Resolve download, price, fullscreen, and desktop activation issues.
A download is unavailable
Downloads are enabled only when a verified release manifest lists a real artifact. Check GitHub Releases or try a browser preview while a build is unavailable.
Choose the architecture that matches your computer. Mac offers Apple silicon and Intel; initial Windows and Linux builds target x64.
The operating system blocks the download
Check whether the page labels the download as an unsigned preview. Mac preview bundles may have an ad-hoc signature without a verified publisher identity. Operating systems may block preview builds or show publisher/security prompts. See installation for platform options; the browser preview works without installing a native bundle or app.
A Mac edition does not appear or preview
Confirm that the .saver bundle itself is in ~/Library/Screen Savers or /Library/Screen Savers, rather than still inside the DMG or ZIP. Close and reopen System Settings, search for Screen Saver, and check the installed editions again.
Verify the bundle's architecture matches your Mac and that your macOS version meets the release requirements. If the system reports an unverified developer or refuses to load a preview build, check the release's signing status. Browser preview success does not prove that macOS has accepted the installed bundle.
When replacing an older edition, select another screen saver first and close System Settings before replacing the bundle. If an old 0.1.x Bloxwap Mac app remains running in the tray, quit it so it does not activate alongside the native saver.
macOS host compatibility
A developer reported WKWebView content disappearing in the legacy screen-saver host on macOS 26.4 (FB22353950). Apple DTS acknowledged the report; the thread does not establish a fix. Apple Developer Forums.
Bloxwap's standalone ScreenSaverView/WKWebView checks passed on macOS 15.7.9 for Apple Silicon and Intel, including visible animation, live prices, preview sizing, and stop/restart behavior. Sustained rendering inside System Settings or the legacyScreenSaver system host has not yet been verified. macOS 13 is the minimum build target, rather than certification of every later host. Task #14 tracks the remaining native-host checks. The browser preview remains available separately.
No price, or a delayed/offline price
Check your internet connection and device clock. The display needs HTTPS and WebSocket access to api.hyperliquid.xyz. Network filtering, a sleeping device, or a market-data interruption can delay updates.
The app reconnects automatically. It retains the last observation with an explicit status. A cold offline launch waits for a live connection before displaying a price.
If History unavailable appears, live observations can still arrive and build a new trail. Reload after restoring your connection if the issue persists.
Fullscreen or Keep awake is unavailable
Browser support and device policy determine which controls work. Request fullscreen with its button; the site does not enter fullscreen automatically. A mobile home-screen installation can provide a more immersive display.
Keep awake is opt-in and can be refused by system power settings. It does not override your computer's secure-lock policy.
Automatic activation does not start
On Mac, check that the Bloxwap edition is selected in the system's Screen Saver settings and review the system's activation, display-sleep, and lock options. macOS controls this behavior; there is no Bloxwap tray timer to enable. Test with the system preview.
On Windows or Linux, check that the app is running, Start when my computer is idle is enabled, and its wait time has elapsed. A system tray is required. Locking or suspending the computer prevents the idle display from opening.
On Linux, try the tray's manual preview. If that works while idle activation does not, the session may not expose idle state. This can happen under Wayland.
The QR is difficult to scan
Try a larger display or move closer. Camera focus, viewing angle, brightness, and physical display size affect scanning range. The QR card is also a clickable link.
Report a problem
Open an issue with the edition, release version, operating system and architecture, browser if relevant, and steps to reproduce. Include the connection status and error text; exclude credentials or private account information.
